Abstract

Balinese language has a very important role in the life and civilization of Balinese society and has a central role in the intellectual, social and emotional development of students. As one of the local advantages in Bali, learning Balinese language is expected to help students to better know, love and participate in preserving the local advantages of Bali. The introduction of Balinese language needs to be intensified. Gending rare not only introduces Balinese language to early childhood but also forms character such as positive values ​​and moral messages. The introduction of Balinese language is not only the role of parents at home but can be done in early childhood schools. The stimulation that can be done in early childhood is almost the same as that done by parents in introducing Balinese language such as using gending rare media. The object of this research focuses on the position and function of gending rare media as an introduction to Balinese language to early childhood. The data source for this research is the introduction of Balinese language through gending rare to early childhood at Hainan School Kindergarten which is obtained through observation, interviews, literature studies and documentation. Informants were conducted by snowball sampling. The results of the study are known; (1) The learning strategies used in learning the introduction of Balinese language through rare gending media for early childhood at Hainan School Kindergarten are audiovisual methods, image media methods, rare gending methods (movement and song), and traditional game methods. (2) Inhibiting factors that influence the introduction of Balinese language through rare gending media for early childhood are the family environment, learning tools, the surrounding environment, and changes in culture and views from society. (3) The role of introducing Balinese language through rare gending media for early childhood at Hainan School Kindergarten is the preservation of culture, character formation, and preservation of the mother tongue. In this case, the introduction of Balinese language through rare gending media for early childhood has a very important role in preserving Balinese culture and regional language.
